Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research implementation plan during the past fiscal year has focused on an industrial case study with the company JAMSS (Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation), the Mechanical Systems Design Laboratory of the Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University, and the School of Engineering Science of the University of Skovde. The objective has been to analyze the manufacturing capacity, flexibility, and productivity of a complex manufacturing system while keeping high-quality product standards. Additionally, internationalization activities have been done to spread research knowledge of the involved institutions in the form of presentations of the developed research and some university course and seminars have been included to support these research and international activities. The first research results are planned to be presented as a paper and presentation at the international conference SPS2022, 10th Swedish Production Symposium 2022.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research collaboration with the company JAMSS (Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation), the Mechanical Systems Design Laboratory of the Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University, and the School of Engineering Science of the University of Skovde is working smoothly, enabling communication, data collection, and internationalization, and dissemination of research results.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Future work includes the contribution of developing Discrete-Event Simulation models, the Functional Analysis Resonance Method, and Work Domain Analysis for system design, evaluation, and improvement with the involved company and institutions. The research plan includes publication of research results at the 15th IFAC/IFIP/IFORS/IEA Symposium on Analysis Design and Evaluation of Human-Machine Systems in USA in September 2022 and the organization of The 14th FRAMily Meeting/Workshop in Kyoto in November 2022. Additionally to further work with the research results aiming for an international publication with the members of the involved company and institutions.
