Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
An interferometric sensing device was proposed and demonstrated for detecting biochemical reactions. The sensing mechanism was elucidated using simulation. Subsequent improvements to the experimental setup were made in an effort to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Addressing the limitation imposed by light coupling from an external source on the proposed device's performance, a solution was devised by incorporating a light source directly onto the platform. This integration yielded promising preliminary results, particularly regarding the quality and coherence of the light source. The results were published in Nature Communications.
