Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2021年度には,車両IoTにおけるタスク処理を想定し,フェデレーテッド・ラーニング(Federated Learning: FL)を用いた情報処理基盤の基本設計を行った(項目1:深層強化学習ベースのFLを用いた情報処理基盤).通信,計算,ストレージなどの情報処理資源に対する個々の車両の経験に限界があるため,単一車両の知見による制御では不十分であり,複雑な環境における迅速な判断が難しい.また複数の車両間で生データを共有することは無線帯域を圧迫する.本研究は,FLを用いて,多数の車両の知見を活用し,各車両の行動の最適化を行った.まず,路側装置(RSU)等中央制御サーバが存在する場合におけるFLの設計を行った.RSUが統合サーバになり,学習を行う車両クライアントに初期グローバルモデルを配布する.その後,各クライアントが自分のデータ(感知できる環境)を用いてモデルの学習を行う.一定時間学習後,学習結果(深層強化学習パラメータ)を学習統合サーバにアプロードし,統合サーバが各クライアントからの結果の集約を行う.このステップを繰り返すことで,各クライアントにおける知見がグローバルモデルに反映され,それを利用することで各車両が自分の行動(通信・計算・ストレージ資源の配分方式は行動となる;すなわち,タスクを特定の車両で実行するか否か,データを隣接の車両に送信するか否か,データのキャッシュを行うか否か)を改善できる.

理論的評価に加えて,車両ネットワークシミュレータ「Veins」(https://veins.car2x.org/)を用いた資源管理の模擬を行い,実際のアプリケーションにおける影響を自動運転シミュレータ「AirSim」(https://microsoft.github.io/AirSim/)で検証した.

Reason

2021年度には,予定通り,項目1(深層強化学習ベースのFLを用いた情報処理基盤)研究開発を行った.車両IoTにおけるタスク処理を想定し,FLを用いた情報処理基盤の基本設計を行った.理論的評価に加えて,車両ネットワークシミュレータ「Veins」(https://veins.car2x.org/)を用いた資源管理の模擬を行い,実際のアプリケーションにおける影響を自動運転シミュレータ「AirSim」(https://microsoft.github.io/AirSim/)で検証した.また項目3(学習クライアント選択とモデル集約)の内容として、簡易なクライアント選択アルゴリズムの設計も完了している。よって,当初の計画以上に進展していると考える.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2022年度には,項目2,3,4の研究開発を行う.項目2,3では,項目1に基づき,FLの性能を改善するための事前学習手法,車両クライアント評価手法,をそれぞれ提案する.項目4では,自律分散環境におけるFLを可能とする手法を提案する.理論的評価に加えて,車両ネットワークシミュレータ「Veins」(https://veins.car2x.org/)を用いた資源管理の模擬を行い,実際のアプリケーションにおける影響を自動運転シミュレータ「AirSim」(https://microsoft.github.io/AirSim/)で検証する.
