Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In FY2023 the scattering light characterization and installation of new low losses components (OPO) has been finalized. This activities provided insight in the source of phase noise. Due to the aging of several electronical components (such as PLLs electronics, locking boards and others), several time has been invested in repairing the electronics and recovering the correct working point of the system. Although time consuming this operation was successful. Additionally a new approach based on machine learning has been adopted in order to acquire the data from the system and analyze them in real time so to extract the relevant parameters from the system. The initial tests on this approach, conducted in collaboration with the quantum optics group of prof. Lee from National Tsing Hua University, were very successful. The writing of a paper on this argument has started and we plan to publish on this topic in the future. The design of new generation suspension has been successful and the realization of the first new generation suspension prototype was achieved. The characterization of this first prototype of the new suspension has started and very good results have been achieved. Additional testing will be necessary before installation in the main system.
