Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当該年度は、主に3つのアプローチによる研究を行った。(1)各ドメインでのインタラクションを機械学習ベース、ルールベース、あるいはそれらを組み合わせた予測技術、(2)インタラクションの制御に関して介入効果を推定する方法、(3)強化学習を用いた制御・評価方法に関する研究を行った。国際連携においては、米国を中心とした11大学と共同研究を行い、自動運転に関する国際ワークショップを開催した。
(1)について、運転に関しては例えば、運転者の個別の運転特性を考慮した車線変更に関する研究(Bao et al. 2022, IEEE Access)や、遮蔽を考慮した視認性最大化のための能動的な位置調整を用いた運動計画の研究(Narksri et al. 2022, IEEE Access)を出版した。スポーツにおいては、サッカーにおける軌道予測に基づいた選手評価の研究が発表された(Teranishi et al. 2022, ECML-PKDD workshop)。音声情報処理においては、音声の特徴を加味した準周期波形モデリングのための時系列単位の最適化に関する論文が発表された(Chen & Toda, 2022, APSIPA)。(2)について、運転に関しては、自動運転シミュレータにおける経時的介入結果の推定手法に関する研究が発表された(Fujii et al. 2022, SIGSPATIAL, Best poster award) 。さらに、動物の群れモデルへの介入、集団スポーツのプレーなど、領域横断的なシナリオに拡張した研究は、現在国際雑誌に投稿中である。(3)については、追跡-逃避(Tsutsui et al. 2022, ICIP workshop)やバドミントン(Ding et al, 2022, IEEE Access)において強化学習を用いた行動制御・評価に関する研究が発表された。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

成果として、研究実績にあるように様々なドメインに関する実世界インタラクションの予測・制御に関する技術を開発したため。特に、(1)実世界インタラクションを機械学習ベース、ルールベース、あるいはそれらを組み合わせた方法にて予測する技術が、複数領域について、複数の学術論文が出版されたため、順調に進展していると言える。(2)インタラクションの制御に関して介入効果を推定する方法についても、複数領域に適用可能な方法が開発され国際会議に採択された。さらに(3)強化学習を用いた制御・評価する方法について新たに開発し、学術論文が採択されたため、研究が順調に進展していると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

研究については、昨年度に引き続き、(1)様々なドメインでの実世界インタラクションを機械学習ベース、ルールベース、あるいはそれらを組み合わせた予測技術、(2)インタラクションの制御に関して人間が介入する方法や、介入効果を推定する技術、(3)強化学習により制御方策を自動決定する方法を実装・評価する研究について進める。また、当該の分野横断的な研究テーマに関して、専門書の執筆準備を進める。国際連携については、引き続き海外の大学のインターンを受け入れたり、セミナー・ワークショップを開催するとともに、代表・分担者の研究室の大学院生の海外派遣も支援する。
