Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research discusses the Japanese modern sculptor Tsuruzo ISHII’s wood-work masterpieces “Shimazaki Toson” (Toson-zo (1), Toson-zo (2)), that had set in working at 1949, from a comprehensive technical point of view. Applying the basic data of 18K00118” Researching of modernity of Ishii Tsuruzo on Shimazaki Toson wood carving statue”, we tried to analyze the creative process of “Shimazaki Toson” and evaluated of the creative method. In a rare case in art history, many of the wood pieces that were removed in the creation of his work were kept for later evaluation of procedure. To analyze the procedure, 3D capture technology and 3D digitization techniques were applied to the works and the remaining wood pieces. This research built a fixed ten-Viewpoint Image 3D Animation System of the making procedure. From this analysis, the coincidence of solids and Cubist artworks can be demonstrated as a phenomenon of moving or auto’ morphological appositional growth of form.

この研究による成果は、造形理論の解明を通し、石井鶴三の主張を客観的に裏付け、その美術史的立ち位置の再構築に資するものである。島崎藤村木彫像および制作工程資料（木片群ドキュメント）は、作品のモティーフ性（島崎藤村）、制作場所という環境条件の関係から、制作現地である木曽の文化意識の根底と分かちがたく結びつく地域における歴史、文化芸術の遺産や資源の開拓と、それに基づく生涯学習の理念および目的の自律的発展性の確立までもが今後に期待できるものである。
