Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study examined the significance of the pioneering activities of the gallery "Kanransha," which introduced European contemporary art to Japan from 1980 to 1993, in the context of art history, not only domestically but also internationally. In particular, I clarified the process by which the "exhibition space" gained importance, referring to specific examples. "Space" is a common theme in installations and contemporary art, especially in German postwar art, and it was also found that they questioned the human perception of the world.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
