Outline of Final Research Achievements

I conducted an intensive investigation of materials related to the Tsushima Domain's foreign wars, focusing mainly on the Soke Bunko Library at the Tsushima Historical Research Center in Nagasaki Prefecture. As a result, I unearthed a considerable number of materials related to the Bunroku War. In particular, the materials related to the Oishi clan, a samurai of the Tsushima Domain, were interesting, and I could see how their achievements in tiger hunting were recognized as achievements along with their military exploits in battle, and how they were written down and passed down as a symbol of military might. I studied the genealogical materials related to the Oishi clan in detail and presented them in two papers. I also conducted a narrative study of the beginning of the Bunroku War. I also conducted several surveys of Tsushima Island, and published reports on those surveys.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
