Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of HyFlex classes tailored to beginner Chinese language education in Japan. Based on prior research conducted both domestically and internationally, we developed and implemented an appropriate model. HyFlex classes, which combine synchronous face-to-face classroom sessions with synchronous remote learning from home, were conducted at each participating institution. These classes were recorded, and their effectiveness was analyzed. Evaluations by the instructors revealed several critical findings. Institutions need to establish infrastructure suitable for hybrid classes. Instructors must design lessons that ensure equal quality of education in both face-to-face and online modes. Additionally, learners need to improve their autonomous learning skills. The study also highlighted the necessity of lesson designs that promote interaction among teachers, students, and teaching materials, along with the need for continuous support.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
ハイフレックスモデルの理論研究と実践に基づき、日本の初修中国語教育に最適なハイフレックス型授業の有効性を検証した。対面とオンラインモードの同期配信の課題を明らかにし、教員と学生の発話行動分析によって、授業改善には各ステークホルダーの協働が不可欠であり、ハード・ソフト両面で教育資源の有効管理が重要な課題となることを示した。少子高齢化の課題を抱える日本において、ハイフレックスの柔軟な学習形態の継承発展は、質量両面で大学教育の国際化と大学運営基盤の維持強化に繋がることを主張した点に社会的意義がある。
