| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I ran a conference on field experiments at GRIPS where my contribution to a book on experiments in development economics was discussed. We also organized special sessions on the methodology on lab in the field experiments. The draft chapter is reviewed and accepted and is available online and a rewritten version is now available. I co-authored another chapter for a different book on the relationship between behavioural economics and household behaviour in collaboration with a colleague in France.
After visiting Jakarta, it became clearer that post-Covid backlogs with our Indonesian partners were significant. I worked on the experimental designs in discussion with partners in Indonesia. I wrote protocols for implementation and some progress was made on the translation and training.

Reason
I very much regret that the project is well behind schedule. Initially Covid restrictions in Indonesia and Japan slowed progress, but post-Covid the backlog of work in Indonesia has been large. I have applied and received a one year extension; I have a new liaison person for Indonesia and we are working quickly to conduct the experiments.

We have asked for and received an extension of one year. We have a new liaison person for Indonesia. We are currently setting up the field work which will be conducted in Autumn in 2024.

| Causes of Carryover |
Expenditure was heavily delayed by Post-covid backlogs with partner. We have rearranged the management and had the project extended by one year in order to complete it.
