Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have published three papers in international refereed journals and the fourth one in non-refereed one. The main results are: 1. Temporary Vietnamese female migrants are associated with a higher probability of undertaking housework by male members left behind. 2. Enterprise zones in Vietnam are associated with higher household incomes, an increase in private property prices, and an increase in working hours. 3. Based on the historical data on Vietnamese imperial examinations (1075-1919), we find Confucianism has long-lasting negative impacts on gender inequality in all considered aspects. 4. We find the persisting legacies of the imperial elites among contemporary top-ranking Vietnamese politicians based on home district connection.
