Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Further data collection proceeded in Japan as originally planned. I conducted the second wave of survey data collection from 550 full-time employees who had completed the Time 1 survey last year using an online survey platform. This year, I also delved into the impacts of e-coaching on employees' knowledge creation and the usage of social media in the coaching process.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
In the third year of my research project, I continued my data collection efforts in Japan. This year, I conducted the second wave of survey data collection from 550 full-time employees who had completed the Time 1 survey last year, utilizing an online survey platform. Subsequently, I proceeded to update the dataset, leading to new insights derived from an expanded and more robust dataset.
During the third year, I had the opportunity to present further findings at the Japan Forum of Business and Society (JFBS) 12th Annual Conference held on September 7-8, 2023, and at the 12th International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET 2024) held on March 19-20, 2024.
Currently, I am in the process of drafting two journal papers that will present the results obtained from the data collected in China and Japan. I expect to submit these papers within the coming six months.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the upcoming extended period, my main focus will be on finalizing and submitting two papers to international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, I plan to present the finalized findings at either local or international conferences.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Due to an unexpected surge in teaching duties, I was only able to participate in two academic conferences in Japan, missing out on overseas conferences like ANZAM. Therefore, the travel expenses earmarked for conference presentations and data collection were not fully utilized. These funds will be carried over and put to use next year. Regarding data collection costs, the online survey agent turned out to be more cost-effective than anticipated. Therefore, I intend to allocate the remaining budget towards gathering data for follow-up studies next year. About personnel expenditures, since data collection was managed by oversea collaborators and local online agent, we didn't require research assistants. Instead, I will utilize the funds for professional editing services for journal submissions.
Looking forward, my budget will mainly prioritize conference attendance, travel expenses for meeting collaborators, editing and publishing journal papers, extending the licenses for data analysis software (SmartPLS and MPlus), covering costs associated with potential follow-up studies, and addressing other administrative expenses, including equipment fees such as printers.
