Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a tinkering space for Wood Education. Tinkering activities are a method of achieving various educational effects through free manufacturing experiences. In the wood education activity for young children, the children were able to experience building a house using their free ideas, and the results were highly satisfying. The educational effects of tinkering were found to increase concentration and satisfaction, and to encourage active learning.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
ティンカリングな教育活動は豊かな直接体験を提供することである。自由なものづくり環境のなかで、自らの発想を試行錯誤しながら展開するときに、科学的視点や物理的法則に自然に触れ、新しいものづくりのタネを自らが創造していく過程である。この教育手法は、幼児期から実現可能であり、特に環境を通して行う木育活動は、幼児期に達成すべきさまざまな心身の発達を寄与するといえ、引き続くSTEAM教育の基礎となるといえる。
