The main part of the grant involves dedicated milling experiments at Bern University, Switzerland. Due to COVID international travel restrictions it was not possible to conduct these experiments during in the first year of the grant. Additional preparations have been made to conduct streamlined experiments in year 2 of the grant.

Reason
To reiterate the main part of the grant involves dedicated milling experiments at Bern University, Switzerland. Due to COVID international travel restrictions it was not possible to conduct these experiments during in the first year of the grant. Additional preparations have been made to conduct streamlined experiments in year 2 of the grant.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
With anticipated easing of COVID travel related international travel for Japan (~07/22) adjusted and streamlined experiments are scheduled in 10/2022 and 02/2023 which will enable to provide results for the next phase of the study.

Causes of Carryover |
Funds from year 1 and 2 will be adjusted to conduct the experiments at Bern University, CH and the University of Frankfurt, Germany due to COVID travel restrictions.
