Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As a new attempt regarding architectural design education, the purpose of this study was to clarify the learning effects of architectural space characteristics through simultaneous immersive VR space experiences by multiple people. The object of this study was a record of a VR exercise conducted in a graduate school class. In the first half of the exercise, the students made a slide presentation of the architectural work and exchanged opinions, and in the second half, they made a presentation of the same work by experiencing it simultaneously in an immersive VR space and exchanged opinions. After the class, the content of the conversation was analyzed by protocol analysis and visualized in a directed network graph. The results revealed that the slide presentation was more about formal knowledge and information about the architectural work, whereas the VR presentation was relatively more about sensory exchange of opinions with experiential understanding.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
