Outline of Annual Research Achievements

The goal of this project is to synthesize a new class of clusters, pyramidanes, and study their reactivity. During the third year, we
studied the reaction of pyramidanes with organolithium reagents, forming unprecedented Ge-Li derivatives that can be functionalized with alkyl halides forming stable germacyclopentadienes (via intermediate germahousenes).
