Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The proposed research focuses on developing a new family of organic photosensitizers with BPEA-TCNB CT complexes bearing modifiable states of matter. The interim goals set for FY2022 include 1) making samples with the prepared CT complexes and different triplet acceptors and 2) performing the TTA-UC measurements. Those scheduled tasks were completed very smoothly. Positive results were observed with the samples utilizing perylene-based triplet acceptors, but the detected signals were unexpectedly weak even with high laser power due to poor solid surfaces in contact between the BPEA-TCNB CT complexes and the triplet acceptors. Further modifications in sample preparations would be required, however, this project unfortunately has to cut short due to the expiration of my employment contract.
