Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to expand organic farming, it is essential to convert a large number of existing conventional farmers to organic farming. The analysis of the structure of the food supply chain dealing with organic food in Italy confirms that the establishment of Long Food Supply Chains (LFSC) dedicated to organic food is an effective measure to stimulate the expansion of the area under organic farming. However, the LFSC has a chain structure that is not inclusive of small-scale farmers, and it is essential to establish a Short Food Supply Chain (SFSC) that can contribute to securing stable sales channels for these producers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
