Outline of Annual Research Achievements

申請研究を遂行した結果、ハタンポ科魚類を含む数多くの海産魚類の標本を収集することができ、DNA解析用の遺伝子標本に加え、RNA解析用の鮮度の良い遺伝子標本を収集することができた。とりわけ、琉球列島における鮮度の高い標本は、当初想定していた以上に発展的な遺伝子解析が可能である。採取した標本をもとにした、遺伝解析を進めることができ、ハタンポ科キンメモドキとハタンポ属のPempheris nyctereutes、近縁のアオバダイ科の全ゲノムデータを取得するなど、解析方面に大きな発展があった。ゲノム解析の結果、アオバダイ科がハタンポ科と近縁であることが改めて証明された。2024年度までに琉球列島、高知、台湾をはじめとする国内外で採集したハタンポ科魚類から得た遺伝子標本に基づいた遺伝子解析にくわえ形態観察をおこなってきた結果を統合し、日本と台湾のハタンポ属魚類についての分類学的再検討に関する論文原稿が現在、投稿直前の状況である。この論文では、タイプ標本とこれまで観察した2500以上の標本に基づき、日本と台湾に計10種が分布していることを明らかにしたものであり、Pempheris sasakiiとPemepheris xanthopteraの有効性を証明した内容である。そのほか期間中に採集した標本、訪問した博物館の所蔵標本を観察し、野外における観察や標本の採集をおこなった結果、ハゼ科やハタ科、テンジクダイ科、イトヨリダイ科、トラギス科、ナガアオメエソ科の複数の未記載種や日本初記録種、稀種の発見につながった。これらの発見の一部は原著論文として投稿中、受理済または発表済である。

Reason

（１）自身の所属異動に伴う作業のため、自身の研究活動に使用できる時間が想定より少なくなった。
（２）2023年度までに新型コロナウィルスの蔓延により、海外（とりわけオーストラリア）での標本収集が出来なかった。
（３）過去にオーストラリアにて収集した標本を再解析することを様々な条件下で複数回試みたが、遺伝子標本の保存が悪かったためかPCR産物を得ることができなかった。
（４）台湾への訪問が可能となったことで、市場にて鮮度の良い標本を入手することができた。また、移動時間が短いため、遺伝子試料を冷やしたまま持ち運ぶことが可能であり、RNAのデータならびに全ゲノムデータを得ることができた。
（５）調査の過程で副産物的に様々な分類群の標本が入手でき、稀少なものが多く含まれていた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ハタンポ科の分類学的整理を引き続き進める。これらの成果を論文として執筆し、発表する予定である。現在は日本と台湾を中心としたハタンポ属の分類学的再検討に関する原稿の執筆を進めており、現在は投稿の直前である。今回は新型コロナウイルスの影響により、海外調査は台湾でのみ実施することができた。今回、得られた経験を活かし、他のクレードに含まれる種のRNA解析用標本の入手を目指す。
これらハタンポ科の比較として収集した海産魚類の研究の過程で、数多くの未記載種の存在も明らかになったことから、今後はこれらを分類学的に精査し、適宜記載していく予定である。

Causes of Carryover

2023年度までのコロナ渦の影響により国外の渡航計画に変更が生じたため。遺伝子解析や国内で実施する研究活動に使用する。
