Outline of Final Research Achievements

We evaluated the relationship between osteosarcoma and the membrane protein TSPAN12. No significant expression was observed by Western blot analysis or rt-PCR. RNA sequencing showed a lower expression level than other TSPANs.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

骨肉腫や軟部肉腫は分子標的薬が効きにくいといわれている悪性腫瘍である。本実験では分子標的薬の1つとされている膜タンパクであるテトラスパニンに着目し研究を行った。結果としてはTSPAN12と骨肉腫の関係性は低かったが、研究の中でより関係性が強いと考えられるTSAPN4や15といった新たな研究ターゲットを発見できたことは今後の研究継続に繋がる。
