Outline of Final Research Achievements

Oropharyngeal cancer　and Oral cancer risk in Japanese: Genetic polymorphisms related to the metabolism of alcohol- and tobacco-associated carcinogens. Alcohol dehydrogenase 1B (ADH1B), aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2), cytochrome P450 A1 (CYP1A1) , glutathione S-transferase (GST) , gene polymorphisms were determined by polymerase chain reaction-based methods. Univariate and multivariate analyses is performing.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

頭頸部癌おける、リスク因子について、アルコール代謝関連遺伝子、たばこ代謝関連遺伝子 の遺伝子多型について解析中である。本研究により頭頸部癌、頭頸部重複癌の発生リスクを明らかにし、頭頸部癌予防のデータとして生活指導に活かすことを目的とする。
