Prediction of cytokine profiles from optical coherence tomograms was performed on 717 samples using deep learning. Cytokine concentrations were predictable with correlation.

本研究成果により加齢黄斑変性における非侵襲データから侵襲データを生成することが可能になり、非侵襲データと侵襲データを合わせて解析することで、加齢黄斑変性の予後予測精度を向上させると考えられる。学術的には、加齢黄斑変性の新たな病態解明と個別化医療に貢献すると期待され、社会的には失明をさらに減らすと期待される。
