Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we were able to clarify the status of SDP policies in Japan, UNESCO, and other countries, and to provide useful information for future SDP policies in Japan. The results of this research were presented at academic conferences, submitted to academic journals, and published on the Internet. It is hoped that information on SDP policies in Japan and other countries will continue to be developed and that research in this field will continue to accumulate.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

国内外における SDP施策の動向及び現状について検討することは、近年、学問分野として整備されつつあるスポーツ国際開発学の学問的基盤形成とその発展には不可欠である。東京2020 開催で、SDPの議論も活発になってきている一方、その多くは、東京2020のプレイベントという位置づけで実施されている。SDPに関する議論の隆盛が「プレメガイベント」としての一過性のムーブメントに終始しないためにも、社会開発や平和構築におけるスポーツの役割の解明に資する情報蓄積を促進する必要性は高いものと思われる。当該分野の情報蓄積と活用は、オリンピック・レガシーとしての価値を生み出す可能性が高いと考えられる。
