Outline of Final Research Achievements

We developed a soft orthotic strap (Elastomeric Strap: ES) with functional lines to reduce knee-in and induce a safe landing posture for the prevention of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Kinematic analysis of the landing motion showed that the strap could prevent knee-in, a risk factor for ACL injury.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

被験者は、下肢疾患の既往がなく、ジャンプ着地時にknee-in が顕著な女子大学生を対象とした。運動課題は30 ㎝台からのジャンプ着地動作とし、開発したElastomeric Strap(: ES)を装着の有無にてknee-inの抑制を三次元動作解析装置にて分析した。結果として、ESを装着することによりACL損傷の危険肢位であるknee-inや体幹の着地脚側への傾斜を回避できる可能性を示した。
