Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main focus of this work is to develop a method for representing three-dimensional surfaces in a manner suitable for physics-based simulation of three-dimensional objects like finite element method. More specifically, it targets principal issues related to data reduction and fast visualization of complex surface models.
Additionally, the technique for generating three-dimensional surfaces has been developed aiming applications in material engineering simulations. In particular, several new methods have been introduced for shape modeling of materials known as foamed metals, which consist of solid metal with randomly distributed small holes.
