Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we developed a learning support environment for brain image analysis using a web conferencing system. We created and released the brain image analysis system Lin4Neuro as a virtual machine. Additionally, we introduced the communication tool Pumble to build a community of researchers. Furthermore, we developed various scripts for handling DICOM images to support researchers and made these scripts publicly available. As a result, several brain image analysis projects that had been stalled were able to progress, contributing to the publication of over 20 papers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

脳画像解析に速やかに取り組める環境を構築し、PCビルダーと協働して脳画像解析ツールがプリインストールされているPCの発売も行うことができた。また、ビデオ会議ツールを使った画面共有、コミュニケーションツールを使ったインタラクティブなコミュニケーションを併用することで、脳画像解析の支障となる様々な問題が従前よりも速やかに解決されるようになった。さらに、近年IT業界で頻用されているバージョン管理ツールを活用することで、開発したスクリプトを公開するとともに、必要に応じてスクリプトを柔軟に改変することもできるようになった。
