Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Plant Microbial fuel Cells (PMFCs) are bioelectrochemical system in where we can generate electricity from the living plants with the help of microbes in the soil. In this research, a new challenge has been carried out to generate the electricity from the grown up tree. It has successfully installed the biobattery around the grownup tree to get the food from the tree and generate electricity from it more than 15 Volts from one big tree.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
This research has progressed rather smoothly and we can generate the electricity from a grown-up tree without any problem. However, we expected more electricity from one big tree, so we are trying to improve the design of the Plant Microbial Fuel Cell and our target is to get the 2 times more electricity from a single grown-up tree.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
1. We will make a 3 D printer design for the microbial fuel cell. Then we will place around the root systems. The biobattery can get energy from the root of the plants.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The next year we are going to set a weather station for the voltage generation data calculation system with the big tree. So we will buy a weather station and will measure the relation in different seasons.
