Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A weak state due to aging of the paper induces shape deformation caused by tensile strain applied in various directions during creating, using, and repairing the hanging scroll. Therefore, in order to preserve the hanging scroll for a long period of time, it is necessary to accurately grasp the deteriorated part and its behavior. However, it takes time for visual observation to recognize changes in the painting paper, and the strain distribution in the painting paper is uneven due to the orientation and the influence of the fiber, so it is difficult to predict its behavior. In this study, the deterioration state of the paper was classified non-destructively at an invisible level and predicted the change behavior by using the short-wave infrared spectroscopy method for the chemical deterioration of the paper and digital imaging correlation method focusing on the in-plane distortion distribution for the physical deformation of the paper.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
