Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the fiscal year 2021, I did the following things on my research. First, I analyzed the effect of transfer of human resources on local governments using data on human resources in public sector and municipalities. Second, I applied for obtaining the micro data for university-level data. I did the paperwork and filled in the forms that were required for the application process. I successfully finished the data application process and received raw data on universities. Using these data sources, I constructed a large panel dataset. Using the dataset, I will get deep into the analyses on the effect of the transfer of human resources on economic entities in the next fiscal year 2022.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The goal of the first year was to collect data and clean the dataset. I applied for the micro data from different data sources and created a main dataset. I also analyzed the effect of the transfer of human resources on local governments.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The goal of the second year is to finish the analysis. I will run regressions, get empirical results, and get deep into the mechanisms. I will also try to give presentations and interact with other economists to get feedback. Ideally, I would like to finish writing up a working paper in the second year.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Under the circumstance of covid-19, I could not give in-person presentations in and outside of Japan. In the next fiscal year, it is expected that the situation will get better, and I will seek opportunities to interact with other researchers to get feedback.
