Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This project was set out to examine how firms' social and political actions are shaped and conditioned by localized institutional arrangements. In the past year, a comprehensive literature review was conducted regarding the intricate relationship between place and corporate philanthropy. This paper was published in a special issue of "International Journal of Management Reviews". This review paper laid a solid foundation for further empirical investigations. In addition, an empirical paper focusing on how entrepreneurs navigate institutional transition in managing their networking styles was published in "Entrepreneurship Research Journal". A third paper examining tourists' enactment of the COVID-19 crisis on the cruise ship the Diamond Princess was published in "Tourism Management".

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research project is progressing well, despite the COVID-19 crisis, which created difficulties in organizing field trips for data collection, and visiting collaborators for exchanges.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The plan for this project is twofold: first, data collection including interviews and field trips will be organized in the year to come. Second, working papers will be submitted to high quality academic conferences and journals.
|
Causes of Carryover |
As international travels to conferences, data collection and collaborators were not possible because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount left for this year will be used in the next year in addition to the amount assigned for the next year.
