Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The key scientific question is to investigate how CQ can be developed at the Higher Education (HE) level by using technologically enhanced educational approaches to build an integrative pedagogy for intercultural learning in online, blended and hybrid-type environments. Research process and progress aspects: 1. Data collection process (3 main sets) was completed 2. Analysis phase has started and preliminary results were presented at international conferences (online). 3. Most equipment acquisition was completed (one possible item still outstanding). 4. The university adopted a new Learning Management System (LMS) and materials had to be shifted and adapted to a new system. Although it caused some delay, the process is nearing completion. 5. A research gap was identified through the present investigation (broadly: affective component in CQ research) that would be a possible focus point for future research. However, a final assessment of this aspect will be conducted once all the data have been analysed. Once this is confirmed, adjustments to the framework will be made and further attempts to consider a new avenue for the research may be undertaken. At this stage, this is a preliminary finding.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Very slight delays in the publication and dissemination of results, due to the disruption in the presentation schedule of international conferences. This is still an after-effect of the pandemic. Further delay in the realization of an LMS design (a company that was relied on for learning design instruction became unavailable).

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
One year remains for the current project. The plans are as follows: 1. Statistical analysis of the data collected. 2. One more equipment item may be acquired: small handheld smart device to test the use of online application in class 3. Application for attendance to international conference (1)"International Conference on Lifelong Learning and Adult Education - (ICLLAE-23)" (2)"SEACE The 4th Southeast Asian Conference on Education" 4. Invite the opinion of an industry expert (CQ and/or technology expert) to evaluate currently designed program for CQ development. 5. Publish 2 articles with results in international, SCOPUS affiliated journals.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Funds from the previous year was carried over due to delays in implementation of the online program. This delay was caused by (1) COVID-19 pandemic and (2) changes in the adoption of a new Learning Management System. Due to these delays, dissemination of data at conferences was not possible as originally intended. Current plans are therefore to use remaining funds for travel & attendance to international conference and potential publication costs.
