Outline of Annual Research Achievements

The research achievements of this project can be divided into three parts:
(1) Based on garnet structures, ~73.8% flicker suppression was obtained by tuning the band-structure of host under AC-driven.Deep-red/NIR long persistent luminescence (PersL) up to ~900 nm from Cr3+ was obtained by selecting a proper trapping ion (Eu3+) with deep trap depth predicted from VRBE diagram for potential high-power NIR AC-LEDs;
(2) Based on perovskite structures,sharp-band NIR PersL from Nd3+ at ~900 & 1060 nm was obtained by persistent energy transfer from Cr3+ (~730 nm). Ni2+ broad-band emission from 1070 nm to 1235 nm with ~150 nm FWHM was also obtained in the same perovskite host with good thermal quenching behavior by Ga3+ partially substitution and 4+ ions charge compensation;
(3) New Eu2+-activated cyan-emitting sialon polytypoid phosphors were discovered by single-particle-diagnosis approach.By Utilizing the laser confocal imaging based Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM) technique, new concept of pixel-to-pixel unclonable anti-counterfeiting using unique luminescent/lifetime dual-mode optical information from one single-particle was proposed and demonstrated by a new nitride phosphor.
