Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Organic solvents have various drawbacks such as volatility, combustibility, toxicity, carcinogenicity, and difficulty of disposal after use. Therefore, developing reactions that do not use organic solvents and elucidating the mechanism of solid-state reactions are crucial for environmental and safety reasons. Based on results from this study, the structures and melting points of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds used as substrates were crucial for gaining insight into the reactivity of solid-state Hayashi-Miyaura asymmetric 1,4-additions catalyzed by a chiral rhodium complex bearing highly electron-deficient ligands. Moreover, palladium complex catalysts comprising novel highly electron-deficient ligands were developed, and the catalyst loading of the N-arylation reactions of bulky secondary sulfonamides and amides was successfully reduced.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
