Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
For FY2023, mechanistic study has been intensively carried to reveal how CO2 reduction reaction is occurred on our synthesized catalysts (Bi with Zr substrate) and why CO2 conversion rate is increased.
By establishing model catalyst (Bi metal with Zr oxide substrate), increased CO2 conversion activity was achieved. As Zr-MOF substrate increased CO2 conversion activity in the previous fiscal year, Zr is expected to be key element for enhanced CO2 reduction activity.
In situ Raman spectroscopy reveals surface pH nearby catalysts surface with Zr-oxide substrate should be decreased indicating available CO2 reactants. Thus, it is concluded that utilization of Zr substrate is significant to increase CO2 conversion rate.
