Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The distributed ledger, which is mainly used in blockchain, will grow indefinitely as transactions are made. Moreover, as the ledger gets longer, it requires a large number of computing resources to maintain consistency throughout the ledger. Therefore, it is not suitable for IoT devices with limited computing and storage capability. In this project, we will develop a "lightweight distributed ledger" mechanism for Internet of medical things.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
In this year, a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art distributed ledger technologies in the context of IoT has been proposed, and we have identified some initial attempts towards a distributed ledger in IoT that can be enforced by any resource-limited entities efficiently. At the next stage of the research, we are going to develop a a lightweight distributed ledger for Internet of medical things. We believe that the research results will inspire new interest in research.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the next fiscal year, I will work on proposing a lightweight distributed ledger for Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). Phase I) A resource-efficient distributed ledger in IoT I-3: Testing and evaluating the mechanism. Phase II) A lightweight distribute ledger for IoMT II-1: Developing a lightweight distributed ledger in IoT that stands out as best for IoMT II-2: Security analysis and performance evaluation

Causes of Carryover |
The budget will be used in next year according to the plan and the necessity.
