Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the first year of the grant, the work related to this project has focused on two aspects: the first was to conduct an extensive literature review on the key concepts used in the research, particularly lifestyle migration and lifestyle entrepreneurship in connection with rural revitalization. The purpose is to bridge the academic literature on these two subjects in order to create a synthesis of the current knowledge in this field. As a member of USASBE (US Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) the PI also initiated a systematic literature review on rural entrepreneurship, which is planned to be published as an academic review paper. The second type of work undertaken was the identification of the field sites where to conduct empirical research. Fieldwork has started to be conducted among one of the lifestyle migrant clusters that are the target of the study, in the form of onsite visits and interviews. Data processing has also started, with the transcription and translation of interviews, which will be followed shortly by coding and data analysis. The PI has attended six (6) international conferences (2 of which as an invited speaker - see section 10) and submitted two (2) academic journal papers for peer review. Other two (2) academic publications (one book chapter, one journal publication, both peer reviewed) have been accepted for publication and are expected to be published by the end of the current academic year. The PI has also conducted work to disseminate research findings within the wider society (production of one documentary video).

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
the implementation has been slightly delayed due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, which has made fieldwork in rural communities difficult.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The second year will be focused on conducting further fieldwork, consolidating the data and writing subsequent academic publications.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The difference is due to the impossibility of traveling internationally due to covid-19. The amount will be used for funding international research travel and conference attendance.
