Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A cascade strategy including intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction, using 2-pyrone moiety as a dienophile, and Claisen rearrangement was investigated for quassinoid synthesis. Unfortunately, the designed synthetic precursors were proved to be tough to obtain because of problems with diastereomixtures and installation of a 2-pyrone moiety. Therefore, simpler precursors should be redesigned and the key cascade reactions would be conducted in the future.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究課題は、強力な生物活性(抗がん活性や抗マラリア活性など)を示す有用な天然物の化学合成に向けた基礎研究の一端である。天然物は複雑な炭素骨格と高度に修飾(例えば酸素官能基化)された化学構造を有しており、これらを如何に構築するかが鍵となる。今回の合成計画では鍵反応前駆体の合成が困難であることがわかったので、今後、より単純化した基質を調製して反応を検討していく。
