Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We have evaluated the combined application of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and phosphorylated pullulan (PPL) for use in direct pulp capping (DPC). Our findings showed that the novel MTAPPL exhibits comparable inflammatory pulpal responses and mineralized tissue formation inducibility to conventional MTA, suggesting its potential for use in DPC. In addition, we have investigated the healing response of colloidal platinum nanoparticles (CPNs) in exposed dental pulp. Our results demonstrated a favorable healing response in the exposed dental pulp, with the presence of CD34 endothelial cells indicating angiogenesis in the dental pulp. Overall, our findings suggest that the MTAPPL and CPNs have promising potential for use in dental pulp therapy.
