Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The intracanal medication of lithium carbonate was found to promote healing of periapical lesions formed by apical periodontitis, and this effect was observed even at low concentrations. The results also suggested that lithium carbonate could be safely used as an intracanal medicament. The intracanal medication of lithium carbonate inhibited the differentiation of M1 macrophages, promoted the differentiation of M2 macrophages, and induced the differentiation of regulatory T cells through activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. In addition to regulating the immune system, the induction of osteoblast differentiation was found to promote healing of periapical lesions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
