Research Abstract |
○多自由度X線二色性測定装置とアンジュレータ光源の高速スイッチング機能を組み合わせた,X線磁気円二色性(XMCD), X線磁気線二色性(XMLD)の超微弱信号の測定を開始した。 ○強磁性金属(La,Sr)MnO3(LSMO)薄膜のXMLD測定を行い,スピン分極により誘起された軌道変形を観測し,スピン‐軌道相互作用の強さやその働きを調べた。 ○保持力が小さいことが応用の妨げになっているLSMO薄膜において,保持力増大の効果をもたらすRu添加,Co添加の働きを明らかにするために,XMCD測定を行った。いずれの置換元素もd電子が有限の軌道磁気モーメントを持ち,基板圧力のもとで磁気異方性が増大することが原因と結論した。 ○基板応力により様々な磁気秩序を示すCa1-xCaxMnO3薄膜の相図をXMCD測定により決定した。磁場方向を変えた時のXMCD強度の変化から,異なった磁気相を区別することが可能となった。 ○SrTiO3/SrVO3/SrTiO3と(真空/)SrVO3/SrTiO3の2種類の量子井戸を作製し,角度分解光電子分光測定を行い比較した。SrVO3/SrTiO3界面において,真空/SrVO3 界面よりもより理想に近い量子閉じ込めが起こっていることを見出し,それがSrVO3とSrTiO3のSrTiO3の高い誘電率から生じていることを明らかにした。 ○モット絶縁体LaMnO3と酸化物半導体Nb:SrTiO3との界面電子状態について調べるために,X線光電子分光を行い,界面のバンドダイヤグラムを構築した。結果は,LaMnO3をp型半導体,Nb:SrTiO3をn型半導体として,従来のp-n接合理論でよく記述できることがわかった。

Reason
多自由度軟X線円二色性測定装置を用いた強磁性酸化物薄膜の新規実験データが順調に得られており,論文を作成し投稿している。酸化物薄膜,界面の光電子分光を用いた研究,既存の軟X線円二色性測定装置を用いた強相関系ナノ構造・界面・超薄膜の研究も引き続き行っている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
当初の予定通り,多自由度軟X 線円二色性(XMCD)測定装置を用いて,酸化物を中心とした強相関系界面・ナノ構造・超薄膜の研究を進めると同時に,装置の機能拡張も経常的に行う。光電子分光,共鳴軟X線散乱を用いた測定も並行して継続する。新XMCD装置を用いた磁性薄膜の研究は,フラストレーションなどより複雑な磁性を示す酸化物に対象を広げるとともに,磁性半導体,合金系磁性薄膜にも対象を広げていく。
