Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1)SrTiO3基板上に作製した強磁性SrRuO3薄膜の垂直磁気異方性の起源を明らかにするために，軟X線磁気円二色性（XMCD）の測定を行った。バルクSrRuO3と異なり軌道磁気モーメントが有限に残ること、膜厚の減少に伴って軌道磁気モーメントがさらに増大することを見出し、スピン軌道相互作用と基板応力によるものと解釈した。(2)n-型強磁性半導体として注目されているIn1-xFexAsの強磁性発現機構を，薄膜試料を用いてXMCDと角度分解光電子分光により調べ、温度の低下とともなう超常磁性クラスターの形成されることを見出した。(3)d2電子系はフント結合の効果で特異な振る舞いを示すことが理論的に予言されている。d2電子系の代表であるSrMoO3の薄膜試料について硬X線光電子分光実験を行った。電子比熱が増強するなど強い電子相関を持つにも関わらず、バンド幅の減少やインコヒーレント・ピークは見られなかった。この結果は、フント結合を取り入れたDMFT計算によりよく説明された。(4)SrVO3/SrTiO3量子井戸構造における量子化状態で観測された「軌道選択的量子化状態」について知見を得るために、偏光依存の角度分解光電子分光装置とビームラインを整備した。本装置を用いて、軌道毎に分離した情報を得ることに成功した。これにより、軌道選択的量子化を軌道選択的に観測することが可能になった。(5)SrVO3/SrTiO3量子井戸構造における量子化状態に特徴的な、「サブバンド（量子数）に依存した有効質量増大効果」について明らかにするために、精密な角度分解光電子分光を行った。その結果、この異常な質量増強が軌道選択的量子化に伴った電子状態の2次元から擬1次元への変化を反映したものであることを明らかにした。(6)酸素欠損誘起のキャリアーをもちp型半導体的に振る舞うMott絶縁体LaMnO3とn型半導体SrTiO3の接合界面について調べ、この素子特性が半導体におけるp-n接合理論でよく記述できることを明らかにした。
