Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまで開発してきた動的圧縮技術、診断技術をもとに以下の研究成果を得た。
高密度ダイヤモンド：レーザーアブレータを多層膜化することで、圧力パルス波形整形を実現し、低エントロピー圧縮を最適化することに成功し、固体状態のまま1000万気圧超の状態を実現すると同時にその場X線回折イメージングおよび試料回収実験を初めて実施した。X線回折イメージングには明瞭なピークは出現しなかった。ダイヤモンド-BC8相転移がひずみ速度に強く依存する可能性があることが分かった。
その場診断：パワーレーザーと同期したXFEL(10fs)ならびに光学干渉時間分解計測器を利用することで、動的圧縮ダイナミックスの詳細を明らかにした。塑性変形状態の前状態として弾性圧縮限界を遥かにしのぐ圧力下での異常弾性状態が生成されることを初めて確認した。また無拡散タイプの構造変化が10 psのスケールで進行し、その格子が数10倍の残存時間を有することが明らかになった。さらに異常弾性圧縮状態の格子と高圧相が相互作用して新しい物質状態を形成し高圧相凍結につながる可能性があることが解った。一方、電子顕微鏡に関するその場診断に関しては、レーザー加速電子ビームを用いた電子回折を世界で初めて実現した。また既存電子顕微鏡を用いた動的観察法により、格子欠陥ダイナミクスが、高圧相への転移の起点および除荷過程での高圧相凍結に重要な役割を担う可能性があることを明らかにした。
金属シリコン準安定相凍結評価：レーザー高圧相凍結機構には、格子欠陥形成機構が重要な役割を果たすことが示唆された。60万気圧の超高圧縮の場合、静的圧縮で存在した六法細密構造シリコンは確認できず、異常圧縮された立方相ダイヤ構造シリコンと金属シリコン構造の規則的な混合状態であることを初めて明らかにした。金属シリコン相凍結にこの相転移格子ダイナミクスが影響していると考えられる。
