Research Abstract |
We demonstrated that brain region-specific deposition of amyloid ss-protein (Ass) exclusively depends on the nature of lipid molecules consisting of the neuronal membrane of the given brain region. We also established a system to explore molecular mechanism underlying interaction between Ass and ganglioside, leading to generation of ganglioside-bound Ass, an endogenous seed for amyloid in AD brains.
