Research Abstract

今年度は最終年度にあたり，超伝導サブミリ波リム放射サウンダ(SMILES)から得られるデータにもとづいて，次の3つの作業を継続しておこなった．(1)ゾンデや地上観測データ・衛星観測データとの比較・検証，(2)O3, ClO, HCl, BrOなど大気微量成分の時空間分布の把握，(3)大気化学モデル結果との比較・検討．具体的には以下のような内容の研究を実施し，研究成果を国内外の学会で発表するとともに学術論文として取りまとめた．
1.既に入手済みのゾンデや地上観測・衛星観測などから得られる各種大気微量成分の最新・最良のデータを時間的・空間的な変動の整合性に注意しながらSMILESデータと比較・検証をおこないSMILESデータ品質の高さを示した．こういった検証解析の中から，オゾンゾンデによる測定の問題点を示唆する結果も得た．また，中間圏においてもSMILESがよい性能を発揮していることを他の衛星との比較検証で明らかにした．
2.O3, ClO, HCl, BrOなど大気微量成分の時間・空間変動の特徴を抽出した．特に，光化学的な取り扱いによって比較的容易に変動の要因を理解できる上部成層圏・中間圏のみならず，力学的な輸送効果が効いてくる下部成層圏にも焦点を当てた解析をおこなった．その結果，たとえばオゾンについては中部成層圏・下部成層圏における日変化の特徴をはじめて明らかにした．
3.光化学的な収支あるいは力学的な輸送効果を定量化するため，NCAR(米国大気科学研究センター)の大気化学モデル，あるいは環境研究所のCCSR/NIES化学気候モデルの結果を観測データと同様に処理し比較解析をおこなった．なかでも，オゾン収支に関する時空間変動の光化学的な特徴と力学的輸送過程の特徴について，それらが大気化学輸送モデルの中でどのように表現されているのかを確認しオゾンの日変動過程を明らかにした．
