| Research Abstract |
Focusing on dilemma situations of supporting the self-determination of people with disability, we clarify values in social work practice which is not necessarily based on "respect for self-determination". These values are "realizing the normalized living","connecting people with disability to their communities" and "creating relationships people with disability have with other people living in a community".
The result of this research also suggests that it is important to make more social workers dedicated to a value of "respect for person's best interest" based on "mutual relationships" with people with disability in order to carry out "shared decision making" with those with disability.
