Research Abstract |
To confer the antiviral potential against influenza virus to pigs as a mixing vessel for creating a “new” influenza virus, we investigated the ability of Siglecs to inhibit influenza virus infection in vitro and in vivo by using Madin-Derby canine kidney (MDCK) cells and transgenic mice expressing a soluble form of human Siglec molecules. The transformed MDCK cells showed a significant resistance, but not the transgenic mice
