経済的利用により劣化した中国希少食肉目個体群の復元技術の開発

Research Abstract

平成25年度は当該プロジェクトの最終年度であったため、研究成果発表を主に行った。中国の后河保護区のブタバナアナグマのデータについて、国際哺乳類学会議（IMC、2013年8月）において口頭発表を行った。また、野生動物の経済的利用について、国際イタチ科動物会議、およびオックスフォード大でのミニシンポジウムにおいて口頭発表を行った。IMCではIUCN（国際自然保護連合）SSC（Species Specialist Group）小型食肉目保全の合同者会議(代表：Dr Duplaix)の会合へ出席して現状を報告した。会議では、東アジアや極東地域では、さらに情報収集を行い今後は保全のためのアクションを起こすことで、出席者全員の意見が一致した。
さらに、野生動物の経済的利用についての論文作成を行った。内容は1) 食肉目についての経済的利用の現状の解明（薬用，食用，ペットおよび毛皮獣）、 2) 文献調査による漢方薬としての利用状況と野生個体群への影響の可能性の評価、 3) 市場考察とインタビューによる野生動物貿易の現状、主に売買ルート、価格、種類についての状況の解明である。文献調査から、60種の在来食肉目の経済的利用内容は、食用 (98%)、薬用 (52%)、ペット (38%) と毛皮 (80%)の4つで、イタチ科、ネコ科とイヌ科の利用割合が高い値を示した。漢方薬材料としての手に入りやすさと、動物が漢方薬としての薬用効率価値の関係の分析では、46% の食肉目 (n=14) が手に入りにくく，薬用としての希少性との関係において、材料が不足する可能性があると評価された。その中で，57%の種 (n=8, インドジャコウネコ、アジアゴールデンキャット、ウンピョウ、ヒョウ、ユキヒョウ、トラ、マレーグマ、キタオットセイ) は、IUCNランクのNT種、VU種とEN種であった。
