Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study aimed to develop a movie-showing method alleviating seasickness during voyage. It was quantitatively investigated how severely movie-watching aggravates seasickness, and possible methods were invented to reduce seasickness through movie-watching at sea. They depress the visual-vestibular conflict, that is a main cause of motion sickness, by adding visual information of ship’s swing, and thus relieve seasickness. The efficiency of the devised movie-showing methods at sea was examined.
