Research Abstract |
Keratin associated protein (Krtap) 13 binds to LRP6, a co-receptor for Wnt. Surprisingly, Krtap13 overexpression markedly stimulates Wnt signaling. Krtap13 induces co-clustering of LRP6 and Dvls, thereby recruiting Axin to the plasma membrane that leads to activation of Wn signaling. Transgenic mice were generated to analyze effect of Krtap13 overexpression in vivo.
