Research Abstract

Firstly, the claim of Bamar Muslims that they are indigenous Muslims and respected Myanmar’s culture first came to light during the 1920s and 1930s and has continued into modern times; this was a result of an interplay of various factors during the period of uplift of Nationalism.
Secondly, this research aimed to appear the difficulties of Muslims in Myanmar living in the Buddhist society. However, current situation of Muslims in Myanmar has been unstable with some riots since May 2012 and further researches are needed for making clear the relationship between Burmese Buddhists and Muslims.
